Dale of Norway is situated outside Bergen, and Volund is located in a very small town called Lokken Verk. The sweaters are made on knitting machines, one at a time, then sewn together by hand. This is a very small industry. Volund, for example, has only about 15 employees. Dale is considerably bigger, with about 300 people. Dale of Norway is the most famous of the Norwegian sweater makers, and typically also makes the Norwegian Olympic sweaters for the winter Olympics.
